About CLAE's Annual Scientific Meeting

What are the dates of the Canadian League Against Epilepsy (CLAE) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)?

The 2025 CLAE ASM will take place Friday, October 24, through Sunday, October 26, 2025.


What is the location?

The 2025 CLAE ASM will be at the Westin Calgary in Calgary, Alberta.

Why should I attend?

This will be an outstanding opportunity to meet fellow Canadians interested in the field of epilepsy and to find out about the newest epilepsy treatments and discoveries. The CLAE Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) brings together participants from across Canada and abroad. It provides an opportunity to network with colleagues and exchange ideas while gaining up-to-date knowledge on emerging basic and clinical research developments in epilepsy and key management issues in the field. The formal program runs Friday through Sunday and consists of CLAE plenary sessions and poster preview and viewing sessions. It will be an opportunity to review the academic strengths of our colleagues and continue future collaboration in education and research.

Who would benefit from attending this ASM?

An academic or practicing neuropsychologist, neurologist, neurophysiologist, epileptologist, neuroscientist, neurosurgeon, child neurologist, epilepsy or EEG fellow, neurology or neurosurgery resident, graduate student, nurse, social worker or other professional or researcher in epilepsy care or a trainee.

How are the topics chosen?
Topics are chosen based on the learning needs established in the overall evaluations. Your feedback is invaluable to the planning of future meetings - please complete the session specific and overall evaluations at the end of the conference, as this information helps us greatly in determining content and bettering your experience.

Who is the keynote speaker?

The 2025 keynote speaker is Dr. Daniel Lowenstein. More information about our keynote speaker can be found here.

Are discounts offered for registration?

CLAE members get discounts on registration. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click here.

Can I register for the ASM on-site?

Please note that on-site registrations will be limited.

I registered but have not received a confirmation. How can I get another one sent to me?
Please contact us at registration@secretariatcentral.com.

Can I cancel my registration?

Cancellations will only be accepted on or before October 10, 2025. Please note there is a 10% administration fee applied to all cancellations. No credits or refunds will be given for cancellations received after October 10, 2025. If you would like to cancel your registration before the deadline then please contact us at registration@secretariatcentral.com.

Are meals included with my registration?
Breakfasts and lunches scheduled during the ASM are included with your registration.

Are there hotel rooms available for attendees?

The CLAE is pleased to offer a room block at the Westin Calgary. The room block is open until October 2, 2025, or until full. Room availability is not guaranteed so please book your hotel asap to guarantee your reservation. For more information and to book, click here.

Post Conference

Will presentations be available after the meeting?

Presentations and session recordings will be available on a delegate-only section of the ASM website 10-15 business days after the conference. 

When will I receive my certificate of attendance?
Certificates of Attendance will be available for download immediately after completing the ASM Overall Evaluation. You will receive the link to complete the Overall Evaluation at the end of the conference.
