Dr. Daniel Lowenstein 

Title: The Future of Epilepsy: Discoveries Shaping 2025 and Beyond

Dr. Daniel Lowenstein is a Professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lowenstein is a clinician-scientist who cares for patients and studies both basic science and clinical aspects of epilepsy. He has been actively involved in advancing the cause of epilepsy at the national and international level, and has held leadership posts in numerous organizations, including the American Epilepsy Society, the International League Against Epilepsy, and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.  In recognition of his academic accomplishments and leadership in medicine, he has received many local, national and international awards, including election into the National Academy of Medicine.

MARILYN-JONES GOTMAN SPEAKER

Dr. Jana Jones

Title: Marilyn Jones-Gotman Lecture in Cognitive Neuroscience

Jana E. Jones, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Neurology and Director of the Matthews Neuropsychology Section at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. Her clinical and research interests include cognition in epilepsy across the life span, understanding anxiety and depression in children and adults with epilepsy, identifying interventions to reduce anxiety and depression in epilepsy, and more recently understanding the impact of seizures in Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.
